nothing a chkdsk in the recovery console couldn't handle? Maybe even a fixboot and a fixmbr? Somehow I'm not entirely convinced that the Windows install was entirely dead.

As for Win7, you might try a sysprep, and then pull a ghost image. Turn it into a bootable iso, and then load it in VMWare... possibly?

Wasn't an mbr issue, I got the Windows boot-up screen and then just when it would get to the desktop - bam - back to the POST screen. So I went with the TA method of fixing things: When in doubt, re-image.

I'm using KildClient. Took me a little bit to get used to, and it seems to like to use all open tabs to make one log, so I just open multiple instances of it. I couldn't ever get GnomeMUD to stay connected for more than 30 seconds though, so I ended up with this.

However now that I'm used to it, KildClient isn't terrible at all. WARNING: Make sure, when you start a log, that the little checkbox labeled 'preface lines with timestamp' is clicked off. I hate having to go through a logfile and delete the date/time from EVERY POSE ENTRY.

I was able to get Beip running through Wine, but Kild does look pretty neat. I'll give it a shot tonight.
