Neither work not gaming takes me to that part of the country very often these days, I'm afraid. I _might_ be at the Robin Hood Festival in mid August (they have my availability, but have yet to actually book me), but I shan't be lingering as I'll have to hurry back down to Cornwall for what might as well be called a Summer weekday residency at Pendennis Castle with Trouvere.
Agreed that Hornblower is great, but I simply wasn't that moved by Master and Commander since I just don't rate Russell Crowe very highly. I might feel differently about the movie had I read the books, but they're not available on Kindle and I do so very love having a library that takes up less space than a single paperback.
Alas, I've only just noticed this comment and so failed to even address the challenge.
Of course, any such attempt to merge the pirate and ninja themes would have been foolhardy in the extreme. Everyone knows that a good portion of the internet is powered by ninja/pirate rivalry. God, JK, it's like you're trying to kill the internet.

And Hornblower is great, no contest. Also an excuse to watch the film of "Master and Commander", of course.
