Title: The True Stars
ORIGINAL
LYRIC
Comments: I've been inspired randomly, so I keep writing when I'm supposed to be working >_> This piece in particular was inspired by how well I saw the Korean artists in the MKMF Awards 2007 interact. Maybe it was all for show or whatever, but this is my interpretation. Perhaps it's wishful thinking on what the music industry should be like.
You know you’ve worked hard to get where you are now
Your blood, sweat and tears stain your skin
And you know that even all this effort might not be enough
In anticipation, anticipation, you wish for your name
Sitting is hard but you’ve done harder things
And the hardest thing is hearing someone else’s name
You can’t help but look at them in jealousy, can’t help but wonder
“Have they worked as hard as I have?”
Determination strikes as your skin become more sodden
You want to make it, want to be noticed
Knowing that others are pursuing the same dream that you’re chasing
In celebration, great celebration, you can hear it
The cheers are deafening and yet so delicious
Even as you feel the eyes of others follow you up the stage
They can’t help but look at you in jealousy, can’t help but wonder
Have you worked as hard as they have?
In the end, when everyone mingles together
The canvases of everybody’s efforts are visible only to the ones who’ve bled
And the recognition of sacrifice leads to a feeling far from envy
And closer to a path even greater than success
The spotlight, the bright spotlight, shines on you
Or perhaps on another who has stood by your side
Regardless of who stands up there, the applause you hear is sincere
And your friends -fellow competitors- know with satisfaction
That you have worked hard enough to earn your fame.
