So with all the fuss going around about things going on with the 'haunted' woods and the ghost, I decided to go and see for myself what really was going on. A bit of coaxing and talking to some of the lesser spirits I was able to get pointed in the right direction and got some of the actual story out of a few of the mid levels.

Still they weren't ( Read more... )

Just don't go stirring things up in those woods again. I had enough of that last week when my sister kicked up all that stuff...

Isn't that what your sister does anyway?

Yes. Which is why we don't need two people doing it. Holly is quite enough.

Technically, that whole mess was your fault. You're the one who got them all mad.

You can talk to spirits, Miss?

Yes. I can see and talk to them actually. Which is why I don't keep mirrors around.
That's actually why I went down there to ask some of the spirits about the incidents that are happening. They wheren't being very helpful though.

Oh? Is that so? I was finding that the spirits in the woods where beating around the bush and trying to keep me away from something.
Supposedly that darker presence that I kept picking up on but couldn't get a good hold of where it was.
To be honest, most of the spirits don't like it that a mere human can see, hear and converse with them in the first place. The ones that do talk back to me are usually somewhat hesitant about it.

Even if you can talk to spirits, and it's old hat for you, you really should bring some backup with you when going into those woods and poking around.

Either way, though, that was pretty... bold, all things considered. You're pretty quiet in class. I never would have expected such verve from you.

Um...Well I got teased a lot in class for being able to see and talk to spirits since I was twelve. I'm actualy more comfortable talking to the spirits than with people. At least they don't tease me about seeing them, though the odd ones that do try anything funny I can handle dealing with on my own for the most part.
It would be good to have some backup though, especially if they can use purification magic. That other presence that I kept picking up when I was in there did not seem very friendly. Felt like there was a barrier somewhere around there too. I'm really starting to wonder just what is being kept in that forest.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your ostricization. I'd like to say that people are more adult at our age, but the recent gossip columns put the lie to that. For the record, though, it's pretty impressive how you just charged on in to investigate.

As for backup, I'm curious to a fault and I'm not bad in a duel. I'm sub-par at purification magic, but I am a time manipulation major, so if we need to make like a tree and get the hell out of there, there's precious little that will be able to stop us. On top of that, I just finished my prototype portable ghost ward device. It's nothing too special, but it's small and mobile, unlike a standard ward spell, and it should block most poltergeist energy pulses, which should help. Even if you don't want me tagging along, at least take one of those with you next time.

It would be good to have some back up on hand, as while I know there's something up in the woods I'm not entirely sure just what it is that has the spirits so restless. Then there's that barrier that I kept picking up on too, which my or may not have anything to do with it.
As for your ghost ward, certainly bring it along, but if you can keep it unactivated until needed that would probably be best. Especially since my magic is strongly tied to the spiritual world, I'm not sure if it would interfere with my magic or not.

Ooc: I am thinking that the woods/ghost encountering thing would work better done in logs or as a sort of round robin sort of thing. Let me know what you guys think.
