Sunday Night -- Chiriqui's Jungles And Hopefully Back Again

Mar 22, 2010 09:04

Through gathering evening, Annja ran.

Not so much for fear of her own life. To her own surprise she felt little concern for that. Rather, for her mission. The thought that her mentor might have labored half a millennium to find the sword, and to find a new champion, only to have his labors made futile by such men as these made her blood boil.

Sadly, Being Shot At Was Something She Would Have To Start Getting Used To )

rogue angel, hate mercenaries, solomon's jar, got a bad feeling about this, peruvian jungle, stop shooting at me!, canon is fun!

"... who's trying to kill you?"

Because Sean knew his wife oh so very well sometimes, yes he did.

His freaking out could wait until later in the conversation.

"Mercenaries," she said, closing her eyes, trying not to think of the villagers who had died because they wouldn't give her up.

"I don't know who sent them, but I think I killed a couple of them when cut through the ropes of the bridge I was trapped on."

Annja, you could save these details for after you're safe at home, you know.

Sean may have noticed that she was talking funny.

"Since you're obviously no longer trapped on the bridge, are you hurt?" he asked, already mentally planning who he needed to call. "Do I need to tell them to send medical help as well?"

That qualified as "beyond a first aid kit" because that would automatically get brought along to rescue her. He knew his wife's proclivity for trouble and as such was planning accordingly.

"Do not bring your sister," was her immediate response. Yes, she knew that Sean's baby sister probably had magic to help with the pain and the broken nose, but she also knew that if she heard what happened, Savannah would fight like hell to go after the bastards.
