Title: to put my broken heart together again
Pairing: Akame (blended into Ryu/Hayato, sort of)
Rating: PG
Warnings: Shounen-ai, and strangeness. Some angst.
For:
ashkt. -cling- I decided to dedicate it to you because, uh, you like Ryu! xD; And because I like ranting to you about how I just wish Kame could have his Ryu hair back again. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT. ♥
Word Count: 1,030
Disclaimer: The usual. Nothing, nothing, nothing.
Author's Notes: Un-beta'ed. A short, simple ficlet which doesn't make too much sense, but hopefully everyone will enjoy reading it. And it's Akame love, with Ryu/Hayato thrown in. Who can resist? =D Title has little to nothing to do with the actual fic. Taken from the song It's Not Goodbye by Laura Pausini.
to put my broken heart together again
Akanishi Jin is sure he left a piece of his heart somewhere.
---
Somewhere back in 2004. The beginning of winter, as the chilly air gradually creeps in and settles, as they prepare to start the filming of the new drama, Gokusen 2. Jin puts his black jacket on, leaving it unbuttoned because that's what his character is supposed to be like, not caring the least bit for tidiness. None of them are like that, not in class 3D. Jin tries to think back to his script and he rehearses the lines he has for this first episode. There aren't many, but he feels nervous.
Then Kame walks into his changing room, already dressed in his costume. At that moment Jin feels his heart skip a beat, and it's terribly painful, as if someone has taken a knife and carved a piece out of his heart and handed it over to Odagiri Ryu. Kame's hair is a light brown colour and just the right length, and the black pattern on his white shirt blurs into nothing in Jin's eyes. What Jin can see is Ryu's silver necklace catch a glint of light and throw it back out, but he isn't sure whether it's that tiny glimmering reflection blinding him or if it's Ryu's beauty.
Jin's mind spins around thoughts of Okinawa and meeting each other for the first time in the auditions and their pair rings and sunrises, and somehow all of that confusingly blends into one person, and that is Odagiri Ryu, the boy who is finishing his last year of high school. Jin's sure that he fell in love with Kame a long time ago, but here he is, standing in front of Kame, in front of Ryu, and falling in love all again. He isn't sure whether it's Ryu he's in love with or his Kazu-chan. It's one of them. Or maybe it's both.
All he knows is that he's lost a part of his heart to this person. He smiles at Ryu, and Kame smiles back.

Jin is in love with Ryu.
Ryu is the quiet kid sitting with Hayato at the back of the classroom, and they like sharing fleeting glances and smiles with each other. It's like passing notes, but much better, because Jin sees a lot more being conveyed in these silent gestures than what could be written in scribbles words on lined paper torn out from their notebooks. Ryu is the more sensible of the lot, the one who's always calmer, the one who thinks, the one who doesn't leap straight into everything and therefore helping the gang to keep out of trouble. Well, some of the time.
Ryu doesn't say much, and Jin likes it this way. Jin likes looking at their pair rings and imagining the insides of them carved with the names 'Ryu' and 'Hayato'. Jin likes their unbuttoned black jackets and their necklaces. Jin attends filming and enjoys acting and enjoys the presence of Kame by his side, and all the while he thinks about Okinawa and sunrises.
When Jin sings his solo in the KAT-TUN winter concerts, he realizes exactly what he's written into his song. He had written Murasaki in a sort of half-daze, not really knowing what the lyrics meant. Now he sings it and he dances with a passion. The lyrics resound through his body and his mind is filled with thoughts of Odagiri Ryu. Okinawa and sunrises. On stage, he performs this song for his fans and for Ryu and maybe for Kame, and puts his whole into it, along with every emotion he's every felt. One night, while he's lying in bed, he sings it into the night, his voice soft and lonely and dissolving into the darkness, and halfway through he stops singing because he's too busy refusing to admit that he feels moisture in his eyes.

Ryu sings Kizuna perfectly, Jin thinks. Jin likes to pretend that this is Kame being Ryu, singing for Hayato, and maybe for him, Akanishi Jin. That time, that place, this bond will never disappear, and Jin believes it is true, both about Ryu and Hayato, and him and Kame. He'll never forget the pair rings. There's something about those two simple circles of metal which connects them all together.
---
One day, Hayato decides to kiss Ryu, and they do this when Kame and Jin are not filming, under a bare tree. Hayato presses his lips hard against Ryu's, and it's almost violent. Kame is Ryu right now, silent and unprotesting. Hayato loves it, and when they finally break apart, he laces their fingers together in an attempt to be romantic, and their rings make a small clink against each other. They kiss again, and this time it's less raw, and Ryu leads it, gently, the way he does everything. Apart from fighting, because Ryu's as good as a fighter as any of them are, and he breaks bones when he's serious. Outside fighting, Ryu moves cautiously and slowly. Even so, there's never any hesitation in his movement.
There's no hesitation in his kiss either, and Hayato's heart feels like it's about to burst. At this moment, he is both himself and Jin, and he wishes that it isn't just Ryu he is kissing, but Kame as well.

Yes, Akanishi Jin is sure he left a piece of his heart somewhere, once upon a time, where there was Okinawa, and there were sunrises. Where there was Odagiri Ryu. He takes out his ring from his jeans pocket and slips it onto his little finger. He misses Kame, and most of all he misses Ryu. He's going back to Japan soon, but he knows that no matter what he says when he sees Kame again, not anything will be able to bring back Yabuki Hayato and Odagiri Ryu.
Kazu-chan, he remembers. That's what he used to call Kame. Now, Kame is supposed to be Kamenashi-kun. Kame calls him Akanishi-kun too, when a long time ago, he used to be just Jin.
He has hope, though, that somewhere out there, Hayato still calls his friend Ryu, and Ryu still calls his friend Hayato.
The End
