Forty-Fourth Drop: avarice (action/videopost)

[The device clicks on to show a mound of dead animals, mostly things like pigeons and feral pets -- things you would find wandering around the City, not so hard to find. They've all been cut open, drained of blood, and thrown into a smelly pile in some run-down, abandoned back alley. There are broken windows and other signs of degradation here;

[A gunshot pulls Ken's attention away from the pleasant thoughts of planning a bonfire with Umi for some well needed time off. Once he's heard the noise, though, his thoughts are all business as he veers off down one of the narrow alleys that could be a match for the ones he's so used to stalking in back home. Silently glad he's actually on patrol and armed, he pulls his bagh nahks over his hands, the gloves settling on as if they were part of him, he slips into the nearby shadows just in time to see Sorrow. He takes a moment to pause and sigh softly, really not wanting this confrontation.]

I think you've done enough damage, Sorrow. It's time to be taken in.

[Sorrow has dropped the pigeon, and has it on one hand when Ken turns around the corner. His hands are a horrible bloody mess, his clothes are dirty, his skin has gone from white to a mottled shade of gray-pink, his breath is abominable, and his eyes have lost any trace of their former kind luster.]

You. You're one of them. They can't have you...I will have you!

[Without any attempt at conversation, he aims his gun at Ken, one-handed. It's a tranquilizer gun, the only one he usually carries, but it's meant for knocking out guards. The other hand begins to gleam a pale blue over the skin.]

[Ken's already in motion, body in a low stance as he beaks out of the shadows and rushes towards Sorrow, his claws already extended.]

I don't think so.

[The motion triggers instinctive response, and he meets Ken's oncoming momentum with a mental blast, a rushing watery torrent that lashes out toward the man's midsection. Today is a curse, and that can allow all the emotions and sensations of the curse to flow out and into the target...]

[Dean shows up right after Justin shoots Sorrow.]

[Well crap indeed. As Sorrow falls, Justin can't help but stare at the red, gory wound that he had inflicted.

He stays frozen until his stomach rebels violently. Not quite able to say anything and unwilling to throw up in front of Ken and Dean--people who would probably give him hell for such a thing, people who would have handled the situation better--Justin runs out of the alley and retches.]

[Trying to blink his sight back to something normal (and not filled with those stupid hazy spots), Ken tries to heave Sorrow off of him, his head still spinning.]

[Dean grabs Sorrow none to gently and tosses him off then crouches down to check on Ken]
