Forty-Seventh Drop: siberian snow (videopost)

Nov 24, 2010 22:37

[Sorrow looks far more relaxed than he has been lately. In his usual black commando sweater, now that winter is fast approaching, he is standing in Xanadu and staring up at the sky. There is a long scar along his carved face, and a localized surgical mess under his left eye, but it has sealed over so that there are no stitches anymore, and it doesn ( Read more... )

Hey. You're looking a lot better than you did last time I saw you.

That's a neat trick with the snow.

I feel so much better.

Ah, thank you. It seems to be working well. In this cold, a very soft rain will turn to snow. There was so much snow in Russia, and I thought I would bring a little of that here.

It's beautiful. I hope it starts snowing in the City soon... real snow, you know.

Real snow, eh? Ah, I am wounded! But in seriousness, I can't wait until the snow.

Though, the Deities will likely turn it into a world-freezing blizzard. I've seen those before, but they aren't as nice.

You can control the weather...?

To a limited extent, yes. I can invoke rain and thunderstorms. In this case, a light enough rain in this cold becomes snow.

Raikov...we haven't had a sensible conversation in some time, entirely my fault -- how are you, now?

I see... It was raining a lot back home before I left...

I'm fine. I'm going to punch Dist in the face if he shows himself here again though. Leaving without telling me... What an ass.

Don't be too hard on him. The City doesn't give us the privilege of knowing when we will leave. I hope that he returns -- there are too many who have lost companions, friends, lovers...everyone.

Are you still living in his old apartment?

You can make fuckin' snow?

[He's halfway to calling Sorrow a 'snowbender'. Thank you very much Katara and Toph for introducing the concept of benders to him.]

[Have a low chuckling from Sorrow.]

Well, more accurately, I can summon rain and thunderstorms. A light enough rain, in this cold, will freeze into snow.

I know I have met you before...somewhere. It was probably under less fortuitous circumstances. Pardon that -- I am in my right mind, now. I am The Sorrow.

[Okay, he's gotta admit, that's pretty impressive.]

Oh, right, we did. [One of the few fugitives of justice Rummy let get away. Which totally had nothing to do with the fact that Sorrow is a creepy motherfucker.]

Thank you. Are you well, Ken? I hear that the train caused many problems.

I'm alright. We've had Umi at the apartment for a little while now, so I'm having to get used to living with a girl, plus I've been spending a lot of time with Mara, so that's a good thing.

Yeah. The train was... a pain. That's really the best way to say it.

Yes, I do. There is nothing in this world I wanted more than to be myself again.

Mind if I ask 'how' you got your hands on some Pureblood?

Dr. Solomon's research. Unfortunately, he says it cannot be generalized, but he managed to tailor something to me.
