Mortals can be rather interesting and yet also inspiring. Perhaps it's their short lives or something else, but they seem to see everything differently.

Their attention flares to the important only when it is unavoidable. Otherwise, they flit from one senseless thing to another, lamenting and keening, crowing and exclaiming.

That said, I know not if it is mortal only. Some of the immortal of the residents bemoan this as often.
