Truly, the addition of others in this bland and lifeless world has done nothing to benefit it. When they do not speak of carnal pleasures, they cause petty strife and build walls against each other. Surely, if you live in such harsh conditions, it would be for your own benefit as much as for others? But mortals have never been known for looking at ( Read more... )

Indeed. And the meaning you inferred?

[There's a shift and the sound of boots clunking up on something wooden, likely a table.]

Could swear you ate books with the way you talk.

[A scrape of something against stone - likely claws letting go of an edifice.]

Perhaps I devour souls which were wordy in their life.

If I devoured you, I wonder if I would be the one to leer at handsome young men in your place.

[A chuckle.]

You speak wisdom you do not truly know, Raziel. As ever.

[There is something dark and wistful in his voice, though the sour tang of mockery remains.]

Why give the mortals any more reason to cry over injustice? They elect their leader and then other fools who want to place decide she is cruel and crushing. Perhaps it would be a good idea, if only to show them what a true iron fist would be. But Kain... who would you raise to be your own? Who would be your new group of sons?

I cannot confess I would be gracious should you snap up my food to create more lieutenants.

Indeed, I think it far more prudent that you simply ask that telepath you have taken a fancy to.

I was told I was a charity case. No matter the intentions, I have always been loath to turn aside what is offered.

[The laugh is in his voice still.]

Why, Raziel... What need have I for sons here? There is not great tapestry of time to be set aright or unravel. Would I build Pillars here, do think? Am I that sentimental?

It would be difficult to enforce your will on your own over some of these. As much as you are, Kain, you remain one seperate entity. That was all I meant.

[A mild laughter in his voice.]

Have you spoken to him since? He screamed rather like a woman when I first showed you to him.
