I do not see what the problem is.

Why is there ash falling from the sky? Does that not herald an attack of some sort?

The heart-stealer is not the only form of attack this place has suffered. I doubt you have seem the rat creatures before. Still, the smell is not there. I believe. I have difficulty with scents.

I would understand it better if they were under threat of frostbite. Perhaps it has been too long since I recalled a need for much clothing.

I may investigate. The rat creatures were rather unpleasant.
