so, here i am. feast your pancams on bonneville crater. a bit prettier in color, but still pretty bland. i hope i'll get to go look at my heat shield on the far side. maybe the impact furrows dug up something interesting.
The Fortean Times also posted a snapshot of yours (this is a huge file, btw) and said that there was a mysterious object. I can't for the life of me figure out what they're talking about unless it's that spot of glowing blue-ishness -- I'd say it was your landing airbag nest, but - did you go around the crater? I don't see any tracks. Anyway. Just glad to see you in the news, I try to keep up with you and all.
And by the way, Opportunity kinda gets on my nerves -- reminds me way too much of my younger sister. Keep on trucking, girl.
yeah, a few days ago i happened to catch this streak in the sky. it's probably the old viking 2 orbiter, or else just a meteor. we get a lot of those around here.
the blue object is my heatshield. i only just got to the crater myself, but it landed here after i jettisoned it at about 20,000 feet. it was dead weight at that point, and it would have interfered with airbag inflation.

And that's a very cool shot.

They're saying that might have been one of your distant cousins zooming by. Did you wave, just in case?
