I've decided that I waste entirely too much time discussing politics, current events, and a bunch of other interesting stuff on the colombian myspace group to really post independent rants on here about it. so what I'm going to do from now on is post important bits of conversations. Personal responsibility isn't a right wing or left wing issue. It's a matter of citizenship. And social equality is what liberals want in opposition to social conservatives who think that Americans shouldn't all have the same rights. And as far as I know I don't think liberal reasoning has implied that people who don't work as much should get the same as those that do. Liberal thinking implies that it's part of the governments job to help its citizenry be productive (as opposed to passing this responsibility to businesses) although it doesn't mean people are going to take advantage of the opportunity that would hopefully be provided. But none the less the key word: opportunity.
