So, my school has a writer's club and this was the first thing I was able to write in it. I wrote it in response to a picture that was shown to us. Hope you guys like it.
He stared at her, this factory working girl with the big doe eyes, and he couldn't help but smile. He watched her work from the catwalk above the factory floor. He watched as soft hands turned rough from too many hours working the machines. Watched as her work dress became stained with dirt and oil and her face gathered grease streaks from oily fingers.
But never once did that bother him.
Never once did he think she wasn't beautiful. Never once did he think she wasn't attention worthy. There wasn't a seconds hesitation when he decided he was in love with her. No one could talk him out of it. He had been struck by Cupid's bow and he had fallen hard and fast.
The work bell sounded, signaling the end of the shift. He ran down the stairs and out of the factory, waiting. Waiting for her. He straightened his tie and leaned against the wall, smiling as he watched her walk out.
"I want the back eventually~" he called out. She turned her head and his breath caught in his throat; she was even more beautiful in person.
"Want what back?" she asked, sounding confused.
"My heart."
