That prejudice is alive and well in America.

I’m a big girl. I am. I know I am. No one actually knows it more than I do. But there are reasons for my size, some of which I can’t help (thx, genetics!). I’ve been thinner, never thin-and to maintain chunky-thin nearly killed me ( Read more... )

Ugh! I'm sorry you went through that. You deserve to work for someone who appreciates your skills and your all-around awesomeness, not someone who makes a snap judgement about you. *hug*

I hear you on this. It's not like a diet can solve our body type. We were born this way, big-boned and big-bottomed. That's how nature intended us to be and if we're happy with that so should the rest of the world be.

Is there somewhere you can complain to about this? Seriously, that's out and out discrimination and over here you can take a person to court for it.

Ugh, that life coach should be ashamed of herself.

I was on the job hunt a few years ago, and I signed up with this temp agency. My rep asked if I would go on this interview, which, far as I know, was a normal office gig. But then she said she sent my picture to the hiring manager, and said outright that this woman hired people with a certain type of appearance, and told me that the woman was on the fence about interviewing me based on my picture. She then tried to get me to be grateful for it. I left the agency after that phone call.

What is her name? I think we need to know this so that none of Fatty Fatty McFat Fat's ever contaminate her with our money.

I mean, it's a service to her, right?

I am so there, Caren. My body with no fat = 150 lbs. My ideal weight is 180. I would be so happy with 190.

Also, the life coach - I hope she gets what she deserves: a "perfect"-looking dipshit that makes her life Hell, lol.
