General Rules

spittingink is a collective of writers and "constructive commenters" who aim to write and/or give feedback on pieces written each week. The pieces are based on prompts picked by the writer.

Only writers in the collective have posting privileges, though others may feel free to join the community to read or be placed on the list of constructive commenters. Constructive commenters are responsible for leaving constructive criticism on the pieces, not just a 'wow, I liked it'.

Requests can be sent to the community e-mail with the subject "Request". Requests can be for pairings, authors, themes for prompts, anything. It's a request, after all. No guarantees can be made that the request will be granted, but you might just get it.

Recommendations can be sent to the e-mail with the subject "Recommendation". Each recommendation will be reviewed, and each week, a few fics will be selected as the recommended fics of the week.

To become a writer, read the rules below, and send us an e-mail with either two fics included (not as attachments, please) or containing links to two fics, as well as your name, and what, if any, particular bands you tend to write. Please put the subject of your e-mail as "Application". You will recieve a return e-mail, regardless of whether or not you are accepted. If you are accepted - and there are no guarantees that you will be - you will be given posting privileges.

To be put on the list of constructive commenters, send an e-mail or leave a comment on the list, containing your name and username. After two weeks of inactivity (with no notification of a reason for it), the moderators and maintainers of the community reserve the right to remove you from the list.

For anything else... just send it, with an appropriate subject line, please.

The community e-mail is spittinginkcollective@gmail.com.

Formal Rules and Guidelines for Writers

• Each writer must write at least one piece of 600+ words. The second piece is optional.
• Any writer may write any pairing.
• Prompts are released for writers to claim every Saturday, usually in the morning. Each writer is to claim THREE prompts, though they will only be assigned two prompts to write about. The prompt assignments will be released the following Monday, between 6 and 11:30 PM EST.
• If too many people want to write about one particular prompt, it is under fedradiowires's discretion. She's gonna try and make everyone happy, though. Seriously.
• Fics must be posted before the next week Monday's release.
• A number of things should be included before the cut, a list of which follows shortly, including a scroll box so you can copy and paste.
• If the collective finds any writer's work to be becoming progressively worse, and below the caliber of the rest of the writers in the collective, it is at fedradiowires's discretion to ask that writer to go on hiatus or leave.
• Hiatuses, breaks, etc will be given upon request Requests should be directed to fedradiowires or the community e-mail.
• If a writer is not comfortable with any subject matter, he or she doesn't have to write about it. This includes prompts or prompt themes.
