I am discontented. I tried EVE out. It looks pretty. It is really cool. It is comprehensive. Sadly, it isn't very FUN. Call me crazy, but I play my games for fun, not for realism. Sigh ( Read more... )

If you go back to EVE, call me?
I find that it's only fun when I have people with whom to do things.
My main character there is Kinroi Alari.

I will do so. I had issues very quickly of not knowing who I could trust in the universe, so coupled with the lack of humor that the game exhibits, I ducked out. I'm not in any game to get ripped of by idiots who are working AS A TEAM to rip me off in the market. F* that, that happens enough in the real world, I don't need it in my gaming. Perhaps havig friends to hang out with wuld help mitigate that particular issue. That and the point to point navigation kinda bothers me... I want more free control of my motion. Is there a way around that?

Good points!

Trust
I play with locals and others whom I know --
There are still scammers, etc., out there, but out of game friendships help me trust my corp.

Navigation
As long as no object is in the way, you can double-click on a point in empty space and head in that direction --
That's actually how I tend to do most navigation.

EVE's "learning curve"
Yoinking this from someone else...

It would help if they had just included a manual, like most games do.

I wasn't really having a problem learning, the tutorials do their job pretty well, and the concepts are so far familiar. I guess I haven't hit the cliff yet?

double click nav is better... still not really what I want, but better :) Thanks.

Seems a lot of people had the WoW malaise. We've been doing the Noblegarden seasonal that is going on this week for the title (and ultimately for the mount) and will be doing children's (for another title) week starts as soon as it ends.

Eric (Amber's beau) volunteered at Frolicon to lead the guild into raiding, which would be great, but until there's enough aggregate interest little reason to pursue that. Anywho if you do get online and want to run an instance please feel free to TM us.

As for other games Farshad and Will seem to be fond of Mass Effect.

I would raid something, I'm still game for that.. just tired of running instances over and over and pugging everything else. Don't wanna get to know a new guild, I still like you guys best... :)

Haven't played Mass effect. Whut's that aboot?

I like running instances with the gang. Pugging is tired for me tho, and hanging around online just in case anyone wants to do anything isn't too fun either. Dailies got old.

IDK about Mass Effect really, just that they like it. Personally I was thinking about picking up Fallout 3 which has great ratings.

I've read decent things about Titan Quest and Sacred 2 which are multiplayer Diablo 2 like.

You can get any of them from this site that Farshad and Jason recommended.

http://store.steampowered.com

If you find any thing multiplayer that intrigues you let me know and I'll get it as well.

as you know we have pretty different tastes of games
so lets see if i can play to your interests

have you ever played final fantasy 7
it is turn based (which i hate)
but the story is phenomenal

neverhood is always what i tell people to play
because they have never played it
Doug TenNapel's finest
great characters and puzzles
out of print but you can borrow mine

god of war is great
good story ,fast paced
and some of the most intuitive controls ever

the best thing about all these
is there is a very definite ending(or endings)
that gives you a sense of accomplishment
like a video game should

or there is always luxor ...

Played FF7, never played Neverhood, or god of war.

Luxor is a puzzle game, is it not?

it is
its kinda like zuma or puzz loop
i haven't been addicted to something like that since
bust a move or tetris attack

did you play ff7 on pc or psx
cause psx has cd audio which makes
a pretty big difference

btw god of war is one of those
you may have to hide from the kid games
much gratuitous violence
and a decent amount of nudity/sexual situations

Ah I have not played it on PS, Cody has a PS2, I don't play on it much.

God of War: If I try it, I'll hide it.. I have a "naughty" box with a key lock :).
