September the 11th has always had a special significance to me. It was the day I was born. I can only relate to 9/11 from this personal viewpoint.

The death and destruction wrought on that day was truly a crime. The question of "did we ask for it" is immaterial. Very very few people deserve to die. Did the residents of Hiroshima ask for destruction to rain down upon them? Did the rice farmers in Vietnam do anything that was asking for Agent Orange to rain down upon them? Were the dead in Treblinka ask for Zyklon showers? People, throughout the ages and around the world pay the price for the policies of leaders / politicians.

I am appalled by the death of hundreds of people that day. And I am appalled at how the tragedy was seized and used by even more politicians to further their own goals. I want to go out and slap Osama and Cheney and Rumsfeld and Zarqawi and yell 'Give me back my day, damn you!'
