[ Akane was upset. No, more than upset; she was angry. But not at the recorded words Izaya have said. It was towards Kid for his false accusations, because the person who was speaking on the replay couldn't have been the Izaya. That person sounded like the complete opposite of the Izaya she knew.

There was a good chance that Kid could have been working with Shizuo to exploit the informant. Despite the two settling their differences, Akane still didn't trust the bartender clothed man. It had to be some kind of trick. ]

I'm not. I'd have absolutely nothing to gain by lying about this.

Izaya onii-chan would never say something like that.

Izaya has been my roommate and I never had a problem with him during that time. But a good friend of mine is also here, and asked me about some things that Izaya had said and done to them. When I asked Izaya about bullying my friend and told him to stop, this was the result of that conversation. But before that, I didn't have any idea.

So I understand how it seems like it can come out of nowhere, but I give you my word that I didn't make anything up. That's why I let everyone hear it in his words and his voice, because that is the truth of it.

Oh, that I can understand. He can be pretty insensitive and ill-spirited, but he backs off if you ask him.

I did ask him, directly and without preamble. His response was that he didn't care to obey me because he prioritized his entertainment over my request.

It would not have come to this if he'd done as I'd asked.

[regardless of knowing firsthand how Izaya is, remembering every word the other had spoken to him in the shoppe so well, the recording twists his stomach into knots. not only because it's his voice-- that leering voice that's given him nightmares more than once in the past few days holed up in his cottage, in the corner of his room-- but the content.

entertainment. he was only entertainment. forced into a position in which he must abide by Izaya's will-- and how true that had been, remains to be for as long as he isn't entirely honest with those around him. ]

[ even if his name hasn't been said, everyone knows everyoneknowseveryoneknows but unless Izaya's said anything (and he doesn't doubt that Izaya would, he certainly would)... Crona's the only one who knows just how one-sided this message is (at least to him, knowing his own actions). ]

[ the feed switches to VIDEO, Crona's nervous expression viewed through the darkness of his room. from the differing patterns on the wall (and the blanket half in view) it can be assumed that Crona is sitting next to his bed, on the floor rather than in it. ]
