Jeez, I almost missed how many days into March it's already been! Every time I look at the date, I'm always surprised how much time has gone by. Soon enough, I'll have been in this city for five months. Normally I wouldn't say that's very long, but I suppose when you're stuck somewhere, that much feels like a really long time

But... um, I also know someone who disappeared and came back.

I-I mean... well, one day he suddenly disappeared and then few days later he was back here, in Splendor... As far as I know he was back in his world for those few days...

And nothing weird or out of place happened while they were back? Like, say, they hadn't been considered missing or anything?

Hmm... I don't think so... To tell the truth, I don't believe he was in his world for days. U-unfortunately, I haven't asked him about that, so I'm not sure... When I told him he was missing for five days here, he seemed to be... surprised, so I guess that means the time flow here is different than in other worlds. It might even mean that no time has passed in our worlds while we here...

Ah, well, I guess it is, but... it would also explain few things... [He makes a thoughtful look.] ...Are your... friends here as well? Do you know if they're... um, act like something never happened? Or... maybe they remember things you don't?

Yeah, actually. That's exactly it, between all of us from home here. It's like we're from all over the place or something. But, I asked about that a few months ago, and I got the impression is was a somewhat common thing here.

...Well, I also have heard about it from a lot of people... and it's the same for me too. The last thing... a friend of mine remembers is something that happened long time ago. [Suddenly he looks really sad for some reason.] ...But what I'm trying to point out is that back home, despite the fact that he should’ve been missing from that point on... but he never was.

[He smiled a bit awkwardly]

Ah, I-I'm sorry... I guess I can't really explain well...

[she shakes her head] No, I understand. It's... I don't really understand how all of this works, if anything, but Splendor is nothing but one huge mass of confusion. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth trying to make sense of it.

[Sigh] ...I agree with you.... Maybe, we really shouldn't think too much about it... and focus on other things instead?

I wouldn't mind finding that out for myself, either, but I figure that won't be happening for a while. Not even the library has anything on this kind of stuff.

On expecting a way out, maybe, but couldn't anyone bother to explain how things work at least? It isn't helping anybody if we're always being left in the dark.
