this prolonged-darkness action. how goes it, Splendor? still braving the outdoors under that weird new sky?

well. perhaps you have estranged company, or maybe it's just coincidence he's there, but Alex absolutely cannot let a situation like this go without inspecting. he's not one for stealth, so spotting him now and then isn't difficult.

[ Was it night? Was it day? It was so hard to tell now. The hours slipped by without so much a change. Edel would light his lantern every now and then, carrying it around with him perhaps as a mean of protection or- well, really, mostly out of curiosity at this point. He was fine with being holed up in his room, but this was...

... eerie, to say the least. Every once in a while, his lantern would flicker and dance, but he refused to conduct magic to it. It was better to go... natural with these sorts of things. You never knew what sort of consequence could happen when a foul wind was around.

And so, he walked quietly- and carefully down the street. The light danced around him as it swayed back and forth, but beyond the beacon laid nothing more than darkness. As far as he extended it, it felt like the darkness was swallowing what little light there was. Even with this lantern, his visibility was only slightly better than worse, you could say. ]

[Alex smirks. well, maybe that's okay. because he's a Darkov and people skills aren't much up there.

alright then. he figures he'll have to take it as-is. so he shrugs and turns around again and sets to walking once more.]

[apathycary]

[ Of course, now you have Edel all worried. What if someone else does sneak up on him? That isn't an idiot like Alexander, anyway? He hurries to catch up with him, still holding his little beacon of light- ]

H-Hey, hold on. It's better if we stick together.

Oh? [teasing:] Despite all the wandering you have been doing alone?

[apathycary]

It's not for me. [ He huffs in annoyance. ] I am making sure you're keeping yourself on the right path.

[mongoosegrin]

[aaah, is that so.] What is the right path today, Edel?

[apathycary]

[ Hmph! ] Through the city, of course! If danger awaits, it's there- isn't it?

[mongoosegrin]

[ha ha oh wow Alex was expecting something more philosophical. he gives another grand shrug.]

Why would I hide from that?

[apathycary]

You wouldn't.

[ He smiles slightly. ] But you also should pick your fights well. Do you understand? Don't just sneak around and scare others.

[it gets a laugh out of him.] I was not sneaking around and scaring others. [shooting a sly look over.] That I was doing to you.

[apathycary]

[ A roll of the eyes, of course. ]

Oh. Aren't I special.

[snickering.]

Perhaps you are! How lucky, hah?

[apathycary]

[ And he turns and looks at him.
He honestly can't be serious. ]
