[Alex shoved the stupid little bean stuck in his pocket into the dirt of one of Edel’s plants before setting off, just before the sun rose.

he’s been very careful about a single thing and careless about the rest, but he’s finally, finally done it. blood - not his - is soaking the ground near his feet, and the animal is dead and no one or no thing

[the baseball diamond has less value to Fexis than it does to Alex, and there was not much to start. the body limps, and Fexis sees while Alex does not, and it shrinks down tiny and coils onto his back unseen to push him along as the fresh body draws near.]

[His gaze narrows as he takes stock of Makoto's injuries, one eye settling for a tight squint instead. He's glaring in her direction, but not at her.]

I ran into him.

[She glances away when he looks at her, lowering her head so her injuries aren't so obvious.]

Then... are you the one who beat him up? He looked really bad when I first saw him. I was about to call for someone to help when... well... [she waves a hand dismissively in front of her face] something on him jumped me.

No. He got me and left before I could hit back.

[He wipes the blood off of one hand and carefully clasps one of hers, gently turning it to examine the cuts better. Thankfully they're nothing too bad, but he winces at them all the same.]

Something on him? Like chains? [Her wounds don't look like clear slice, but what else could it be?]

Then someone else must have...

[She catches the wince and feels a lump form in her throat.

N-No... no chains or anything like that. He wasn't even moving. It was some kind of animal, I think. I couldn't get a good look at it.

[Makoto turns her hands so that she can hold his, squeezing them a little.]

We need to get you to the clinic, Trunks.

[saiyajinsoul]

[An animal? But he didn't feel any other ki on Alex... maybe something his sense couldn't pick up on?]

Something hit me too, before the chains, but I didn't see it at all.

[Apparently he's got enough blood to spare for a slight blush, just visible under the mess on his face. Never mind that he's not aware of it, or of the fact that he squeezes back.]

I can still fight. People are coming out to try and stop him. I have to help if I can.

[Chains? That would certainly explain a lot of the longer, thin cuts she can glimpse... It didn't ease her worry or concern any. Especially not when he's vouching to keep fighting. Or when she remembers that hallow look on Alex's face before he suddenly fled.]

There... there is something seriously wrong with that guy. Why do you have to fight him again?

[He's looking straight at Makoto, taking in the nearness (the presence) of her ki. Somewhere in the distance is Alex's, drawing closer to others'.]

Someone has to stop him. I can help.

[Makoto becomes quiet. She really, really doesn't want him to go off and purposefully track Alex down just to fight him. Even though she know Trunks is stronger than a regular person he's already been hurt quite a bit.

Someone has to stop him... Why does it have to be Trunks? A soft sigh escapes her as she releases his hands.]

When I see you again you better not look any worse than you do now, okay?

[He nods, with a smile curling up the uninjured side of his face.

He would've gone out no matter what, but hearing Makoto agree to it makes him feel better, somehow. He slowly rises, ignoring the aches from the motion.]

Let's get you somewhere safe first, okay?

[She stands as well, wobbling a little as her legs realized kneeling time was over and they needed to move now.]

My apartment should be fine.

[saiyajinsoul]

[He'd rather bring her to the clinic, but her place is the more practical choice.

He grasps her arm to help steady her.]

Is there anyone there who can have a look at you?

[tokiokakeru]

If Rin is there, maybe... but I can clean myself up. They're just little cuts. Nothing too serious, you know?

[Trying to not worry him too much even though she looks as though she was mauled by a rabid cat. And feels like it.]

Alright.

[He's totally checking on her later as soon as the crazy chain-person has been dealt with.

He slings her arm around his shoulders, bends and scoops her up. Rocks a bit on his heels; waits for the lightheaded feeling to pass.]

Ready?

[If you don't she'll just hunt you down.

Makoto makes a slightly surprised noise as she's picked up. The cuts and scratches mask her blush as she nods.]

Ye-yeah, I'm ready.

[saiyajinsoul]

[Makoto is pressed a little tighter, a little closer to him. He'll apologize for getting her clothes bloody(er) later.

He pushes off the ground with both feet, and launches them in the direction of the apartments.]
