he’s been very careful about a single thing and careless about the rest, but he’s finally, finally done it. blood - not his - is soaking the ground near his feet, and the animal is dead and no one or no thing

[with Alex’s mind closed, Fexis no longer discriminates. the man and the girl never crossed Alex’s thoughts before - they’d never even met, but that no longer matters. Fexis gives him the delight of the fight to sate and makes a sloppy mess of it all. killing its own kind was nice, but these questionable humans were a joy.

it gaily guides the body at a level trot, footfalls heavy and uneven as the black creeps up and up, but Fexis breathes on it and numbs it all. we’re not done yet.]

[Fexis is vapor and teeth and it leaps away, bulleting back to the body with force enough to rock it back, back steps and steps and a retreat. the leg that was broken wobbles, but holds, and the mongoose pulls the boy along, faster and faster.]

[The sight of Fexis disengaging and shooting back into Alex is almost enough to keep Trunks distracted; almost.

Once it registers that Alex is escaping, he points an arm out at the other and fires orb after orb after orb of ki. It's likely that few (if any) of them will actually hit, considering how shaky his aim is right now.]
