[Firo strides up to Mao with a serious look on his face and what is hopefully red finger paint on his hands.]

Hey, Mao, I need your help. Specifically, I need you to burn somebody.

Don't worry, they're already dead.

...I'm sorry. [He's sorry for getting angry actually.]

[ He does understand. Somehow. Firo would do anything for his family, wouldn't he? Absolutely everything. And there was a lot of things Mao would do for Eugene and others, but... not kill. The situation in which he would be ever forced to take someone’s life was just too extreme for him to even think about it.

And that reminded him of that one day...

[His eyes go wide as he listens to Mao's story. It was terrible enough when Maiza calmly asked Firo to kill him, but he imagines it would have been much worse if Maiza had been going insane while doing so.]

[He forces himself to smile.]

...It's okay... Eugene was fine in the end... My friends managed to find a cure. [But still... at that time Mao was really scared. Scared he'll lose Eugene, scared someone close to him might die...

After Eugene was cured, Mao cried for the first time in his life, simply glad Eugene was okay, but also letting go of all the fear he was hiding for whole that time.]

[Firo nods, not feeling quite up to smiling himself. Even if everything did turn out all right, he hates to think of something like that happening to Mao.]

I-I'm glad he's fine.

[disasterroar]

I'm glad, too... [And even though he's smiling, his eyes start to get a bit teary.]

[That gets him pretty worried and he grabs Mao by the shoulders, looking rather distressed.]

H-hey! Don't cry! He's fine, isn't he?

[disasterroar]

[Mao looks at him surprised, then smiles again.]

What are you talking about Firo? I'm not crying... [He rubs his eyes.] Something just got in my eye... that's all. [He is still going to act like nothing is happening. He'd hate to make anyone worry.]

[immamartillo]

You really expect me to believe that-?

[But he stops. He can understand not wanting people to see that, and since this kind of is his fault anyway he decides not to bring it up.]

Yeah, right. Silly me.

[disasterroar]

[Softly:] Thanks.

[And Mao's smile is slowly vanishing. He still remembers what was this all about in the first place, so he sighs and then says calmly and maybe a bit too quietly:]

I'm sorry Firo... I can't help you this time.

[immamartillo]

[If it weren't for the fact that they'd just been talking about friends going crazy, he would've laughed. As it is, he just gives a little smile.]

...Honestly, I ain't even worried about that anymore.

[disasterroar]

You're not...? [He closes his eyes.] I see.

[And then... all of a sudden he hugs Firo.] ...Can you promise me something?

[immamartillo]

[He stiffens at the surprise hug.]

Uh, yeah, sure. What is it?

[disasterroar]

[Still hugging.] ...Promise me you won't kill anyone again. [But then...] O-Or at least try not to kill anyone...

[immamartillo]

Look... If my Family asks me to, I have to. I swore to them I would.

[He sighs]

But- I promise you I won't kill anybody unless my Family asks me to specifically. I'll even check that it's absolutely necessary with the boss first, okay?

[He nods still not letting go.]
