without you, today's emotions would be the scurf of yesterday's

I am trying awfully hard to study for my Media Law midterm... I am sitting on my duff drinking tea, eating vegan cookies and watching Amelie while highlighting the shit out of my textbook. Nothing is sinking in, however. And I justify my watching a movie while I study because every time I tried to study earlier today, I just ended up falling asleep ( Read more... )

L.A. story = best Steve Martin movie ever, barring The Jerk. Which, really, has no competition.

Media Law = teh suck. We used to have pop quizzes on the names of all the Supreme Court justices. What this has to do with slander and libel . . . well, it might have possibly a little to do with it. But not enough to warrant pop quizzes.

Using '=' signs in an entry = laziness.

I use = signs all the time because I am a lazy, lazy girl. ♥ =!

And yeah, I totally agree. I love LA Story. It's just such a perfect movie and portrait of LA... or, at least, the glossy, pretty side of LA (barring the freeway shootings, of course).

I also agree that Media Law = teh suck. I just can't get myself to read it because I've gone to every class and I can't see anything that is different from what my teacher said. I'm sure I'm missing something or other but it just bores me to tears.

You want to learn French?

www.bbc.co.uk/learning

I heard about the website while I was watching the BBC in Switzerland, and I've checked it out. Major, major thumbs-up for it so now you have no excuse not to learn French.

"Chinatown" is one of my favorite movies ever ever ever. Polanski is incredible; if you haven't seen his other movies, check them out (Rosemary's Baby, A Knife in the Water, The Pianist). What did you think of it?

I have seen Rosemary's Baby... it was one of those films my friends and I (being the sick weirdos we are) loved when we were younger. My friend's dad had it on tape and we would watch it sometimes just to get a kick.

I haven't watched The Pianist yet, however... I want to, I just haven't found the time yet.

Oh, and I really enjoyed Chinatown. My reporting classes keep referencing it because it has to do with LA and stuff so it was nice to finally get somewhat of a feel for it, even if I didn't get to see the whole movie.

So- I happened to type in "without you, today's emotions would be the scurf of yesterday's" and your LJ came up. I laughed to myself. That happened to be my favourite line of the movie. Though- I was a bit confused on the entire idea of a scurf being the emotions of yesterday without you, being as a scurf is dandruff or body soil. *shrug*
Sorries for my random outburst of a random comment but I wanted to at least say that to someone. So...you go and learn french it is a beautiful language and a beutiful country. Ciao Bella- Liz*
