oh becca, my heart and my kidney (the right one, the left one takes all of his healthy kidney privilege for granted and still has some work he needs to do before he will ever realize how good he has it) go out to you.
i hope you didn't end up with a fever or anything, i ignored a UTI at CT 2006 and it spread to my kidney and gave me this raging fever as soon as i got home. kind of scary.
things like unsweetened cranberry juice and acidophilus are a good way to balance out the antibiotics and help your kidney and stuff (you probably knew that though)
also, i'm a nerd about kidneys and learned a fair amount about kidney stuff when my kidneys spent a good part of 2006 and 2007 making my life miserable so if you ever want to talk about kidney infection related stuff...
aww, a kidney nerd. that's so cool. i had an old friend who had to get dialysis 3 times a week so i'd spend a lot of time with him, we'd talk a bit about kidneys too! thankfully for neither of us it is, or will get *touch wood* that bad.
yeah, i had a nasty fever for a couple of days. i went to the hospital and by yesterday the fever had broke and the pain had gone down somewhat. i think that things are improving even more today!
and, yes, i'm totally on the *real* (i.e. not sweetened) cranberry and bio-k - which is basically acidophillis extreme... do you have that in the U.S.? it's vile but wow does it make the body feel good all over!
thanks for the wishes love. ;) i'm on the mend. i swear.
wonderful to hear you're recovering. i've never heard of bio-k but that doesn't neccessarily mean we don't have it in the us as i haven't heard of a lot of things.
Bio-K is in the fridge section of health food stores. I've seen it at Rainbow CoOp in SF, so they definitely carry is on the US west coast. It kind of tastes like Yop.
