Infinity Artist

I stare at my blank canvas. I know what I need to paint, but feel a strong urge to rest. Looking back, I know this will never be finished. When this began, my apartment had a soft blue color and it overlooked a park of absolute beauty. Now, the trees are misshapen and off color. I don't know if they'll ever look good again ( Read more... )

Wow... In the email you sent, you said you weren't sure if you did a good job. Well, don't worry about that. This is amazing... Probably the best writing I've seen on livejournal, period (granted, I'm not seeking it out, but trust me on this. This rocks).

There are a couple typos yet (maek and canvass [wrong form- this one means a poll/discussion/survey, so remove one "s"] in particular), but wonderful stuff. It can't be read as a normal story. It perfectly reflects the mindset of an artist. Some of them obsess over every little detail, changing things over and over until it's completely different. Eventually it consumes his life.

Oh, and points for doing something with meaning that would've had to be thought out beforehand. I can never do that for some reason. Stephen King style, fuck outlines. Every time I try I fail, unless things are vaguely defined in the first place.

Looking forward to your next masterpiece!

Thanks a fucking lot! I really felt that my limited skill as a writer showed here, but that's the best feedback I've ever gotten.

But some of the typos you mention (but not the canvass one) were intentional to give a examples of how repetition breeds error.

Although one thing I don't know if I made entirely clear (but I think it's probably clear enough) is that it's a fractal, but to do the next level he actually goes into (I meant actually steps into) the canvas and paints the next level from inside. Did I get that across?
