i swear, buddy, we'll be back!  *please* don't play with the pretty knobs in the kitchen again.  ever.  you don't have to kill yourself over being left alone for an evening!

maybe one of your friends with kids knows of some oven-knob childproofing you could do that would also work for the distinguished Senator from Massachusetts?

we've taken the knobs off; that seems to work.

i'll have to go to target or home depot or something to see what other options are.
