Description:Jensen comes of age in the Edwardian era, the only son of a middle-class family. In England, in 1910, homosexuality was illegal-punishable by hard labor-and Jensen doesn't even have a name for what he feels, few doctors being equipped to explain human sexuality, let alone something that's viewed as deviant.
At college Jensen meets Misha, a smart young man with in-depth knowledge of the classics. Misha awakens a yearning in Jensen, a sparking of consciousness. Willing to follow blindly where Misha leads, Jensen is crushed when Misha decides to marry.
He resigns himself to a lifetime of loneliness, forced to hide who is or risk being cast out of society. But while on a visit to Misha's house, he meets a handsome young man, Misha's gamekeeper, Jared. They seem to have a bond that transcends class barriers, but Jared's intent on emigrating.
As time runs out, Jensen discovers that there are some things that are worth more than society's approval. Can he convince Jared that it's worth it?
