John and Sam, weechester, gen. Dean is gone for a few days for some reason and when Sam falls sick, it falls to John to do the things that Dean usually does for his little brother. Telling stories, singing, fetching popsicles... Go nuts. ;)

I think I'm going to attempt this... it's been bouncing around in my head for a few days. Like everyone else on here, I'm a bit swamped at the moment, but I'm about half finished with the fic (I think).

Thank you :) I'm glad you liked it. Kids are so weird with some things, especially food it seems. And I'm sure Dean would always do whatever he could to make Sam happy/comfortable, but he wouldn't complain (except lots of teasing once Sammy's feeling better).

oops, for some reason lj logged me out when I replied to your comment. So, the previous one was from me (saralikeme), which is probably obvious since I thanked you and whatnot. Anyway, thanks again for reading! :)

Aw, I loved it! I'm pretty easily won over with a caring daddy!John, and I adore the way you portrayed his insecurity and his total inability to deny his sick boy anything.

The ending was great in its sadness, but I think my favourite part is the phone call from Dean.

"Did he make you buy M&Ms?" Dean asked.

"He asked, and I bought some. Doesn't mean he made me," and holy shit was he sounding like Sammy.

and

"When he starts feeling better, he'll want chicken nuggets."

That seemed easy enough. "I can do that."

"He'll only eat the ones shaped like a boot."

"..."

"Dad? You still there?"

That - just made me happy!

:) Thank you so much! Those were my favorite parts, too. I don't think it was meant to get sad at the end, but I can't help it when dealing with John and his kids. I'm glad it made you happy! Your comment made me very happy, and I think I'm getting sick (April cold?) so I needed it. :)

Noooo! Don't get sick! Or if you already did since yesterday, get better soon!
You know, what helps against colds? Writing more Supernatural fic. Really. ;O)

Thank you! I love your little Sammy icon. I have to say that I'm a bit intimidated by some of the amazing writers that are writing/reading fic for this meme. I tend to stay pretty quiet, mostly for fear of embarrassment or nothing interesting to say, but everyone has been so kind. So, thank you!

Oh, this was wondeful. I love how picky lil Sammy is, and how John was so patient with him. And loved Dean knowing exactly how things were going without John even saying very much. ♥ Oh, Winchesters. You own my heart.

Loved your writing, too. Very smooth and descriptive.
