The Supernatural and CWRPS Holiday Exchange 2012 - Sign-ups
Hello, all!
Yes, spn_j2_xmas is back for a 2012 round - our fifth, can you believe it?
My lovely co-mod for previous years, randomisedhabit, is swallowed by the busyness of RL this year - thank you so much for all your hard work in the previous rounds, Jules! This year, the super-organised bertee is coming in to help out. <33
Same story, shiny new year - a Secret Santa style fanworks exchange. You sign up with what you'd like to receive, and what you're able to do, and are matched up to another participant to create a SPN/CWRPS fandom gift for them - and receive one in return! Art, fic, vids, are all welcome.
Let's have a run down of the [rules:] rules:
1) Please keep your identity a secret from your giftee until posting officially starts and you post your gift.
2) All fics must be at least 1,000 words in length. Please use a beta for your works to make your giftee the happiest you can! Artists, we rely on your own judgment as to what is more than a blip, because obviously measuring your work is quite difficult.
3) Spoiler policy for the duration of the fest: please cut-tag and warn for any s8 specific aired spoilers, when you post your gift; white-line them in the header if needs be. [to white-line, use code: SPOILERS HERE ]
This covers all new character names and any plot points for aired season eight episodes. At no point are spoilers for unaired episodes tolerated! This means no s8 spoilers in this post, please.
4) Please stick to your giftee's wishlist. The more information each one of you volunteers as guidelines, the better the person assigned to you can try to fulfill your wishes and avoid your dislikes. Please keep that in mind.
5) Keep to the deadlines! We'll come 'round chasing you if you don't check in with us. This includes: replying to the original assignment email as well as to the official check-in email sometime before the beginning of December. If you find yourself unable to fulfill your request at any time, email us (spnj2xmas@gmail.com). If you find yourself needing an extension, email us. Please don't just drop off the face of the earth!

Dropping out/ Signing up
Last year, we stated upfront that if you dropped out once the posting period had commenced (8th Dec last year), with or without informing us, you aren't able to sign up this year. This isn't many people, but check with us if you're unsure before signing up :)
Same applies this year - if you drop out once posting commences (from 1st Dec this year), with or without warning or excuses, you won't be eligible to sign up next year.
As always, please consider carefully before signing up - you are assigned to create a gift for a specifically matched other participant, so if you drop out it does have consequences as we must find an appropriate pinch hitter to cover your assignment.

What pairings/characters would you like? (e.g e.g. Sam/Dean, J2, Dean/Castiel, Danneel/Genevieve, Sam-centric gen)
What are your general 'likes'? (Please list at least three to help your gifter i.e. story tropes, kinks, situations; angst, crack, porn; first-time, established, etc. If you asked for e.g. art, make sure you have some likes here which will help an artist!)
What are your general 'dislikes'? (i.e. cliches, squicks; as with likes, etc.)
What can you do? (e.g Wincest/RPF/het/gen)
What can you definitely not do? (e.g. Wincest/RPF/het/gen; specifics like underage, D/s, etc.)
List up to five prompts (optional):
The most important bits are what you do and don't LIKE, and what you can and can't DO. You can be as detailed as you want in your likes and dislikes! These are used for matching you all up and giving your assigned creator an idea of what you'd like to receive. The prompts are optional, both for the sign-up comment and for your gifter to use, but very useful-if you want to give your assigned participant more of an idea about what to make for you, you can give prompts for them to choose from.
If you'd prefer art/vids only, say so, and tailor your likes/prompts accordingly. Be aware that artists are rarer than writers, so we cannot 100% guarantee you’ll get exactly what you want. Try to include some fic-friendly wants/prompts as well! And if you would like to receive anything, art OR fic, try and give likes/prompts useful to artists as well as fic writers.
Sign ups will run for ONE WEEK this year, from today Saturday 15th September to midnight GMT on Saturday 22nd September 2012.
Assignments will be sent out soon after that time; we'll post when they've been sent out and ask everyone to confirm receipt.
Posting of gifts will run from December 1st to December 25th 2012. You can post your gift any time in that range, and we'll be checking in with you along the way. We will give you full posting instructions nearer to the time!
One last thing: If you have participated in any of the past rounds AND have changed your LJ name since, please let us know, either in your sign-up comment, or in PM to myself or bertee if you prefer! This is to try and prevent people getting the same people assigned as they've had in the past - we want to keep things new for everyone.
