Yes, so much to love about this episode! It took me twice as long to watch because i had to keep going back to rewatch all the pretty. There are, of course, things I still want. For example, definitely could have used a scene of Sam waking up in hospital and Dean's relief that it's really, finally over. Secondly, Dean knows death when he sees it. I thought the shock excuse sounded pretty flimsy and i saw a suggestion somewhere that Sam did actually die but Chuck brought him back because he needs both Winchesters to defeat Amara. Maybe he brought Dean back too.
I had a similar thought, but about Billie. Certainly with Sam basically comatose and still bleeding out, it seems a stretch that he'd wake up and be able to kill two werewolves! Does beg the question.
I thought the exact same thing. Two possible explanations. Someone gave Sam just enough life to succeed without playing their hand. And two, of course, he's Sam Fucking Winchester.
I've seen speculation that it was Lucifer, too, but the problem there I think is that Lucifer still can't find Sam and Dean unless he knows where they are? Sam still has the runes on his ribs, right? Unless Gadreel got rid of them or something? (I didn't watch a lot of S9.)
I am a hurt Sam girl all the way but it would be interesting for them to get back to the bunker with Dean preening over hurt Sam to the point he ignores his own injuries and goes down hard. (He was tasered and had the snot beat out of him.) And poor Sammy has to in his injured state take care of Dean. (Cause he is Sam freaking Winchester and can hold back the pain to help his brother- always).
It would also be humorous to have an over attentive Dean following Sam around to the point where poor Sam wants to scream - after he almost lost Sam.
This episode is spawning all the feels- what a great idea to have prompts based off it! :)
I love both of those prompt! I'm all for some hurt!Dean too! And Dean was most definitely hurt. Both physically and emotionally. It would be funny to see them both trying to mother hen the other (out mother hen the other?) thinking their own injury isn't as bad. It would be so them!
I thought about that too, but then I realised, Dean doesn't know Sam stopped breathing because of a total lack of oxygen from being choked. He thinks Sam just bled out and died. So I guess we're to assume Dean didn't brother with CPR because he probably thinks no amount of CPR will bring Sam back unless there's a secret stash of O-neg in the cabin somewhere he can give him while he pounds on his heart to get it going again.
After this, they should start carrying blood bags that match their type in the first kit. Oh hey prompt idea anyone?
