Summary: Sam try to find a way to shut out the world.
Sam both preferred the silence and not.
The world was never silent. He heard the birds in the forest, some bugs, how the wind was blowing, how the house cracked and how people around him breathed and moved. At times Sam wished he could close his ear from hearing everything, but then he probably would be panicking in seconds. If he did it would mean he lost his bearings totally.
He liked to hear Bobby's grumbles, especially when he tried to find things other hunters asked him about. He liked to hear Dean's footsteps or even more the times his brother dared to went outside and work on the Impala or one of Bobby's cars. He even had to confess that hearing Dean's music blaze out from the speakers was a relief.
Though having music on close to him, was more annoying or hell when that turned out the steps Bobby or Dean made, and then scared him when they suddenly started to speak close to him. It had been so much better if he had his sight, but because of his own stupidity he was total blind.
There were times Sam did choose to put the radio on, and that was those time he wanted close out the world and be alone, not need to listen to anything specific. At first Dean or Bobby hadn't taken the hint, but after a few times both learned what it meant. At least for a moment Dean could leave him where he was at the time.
Sam did try to make them as short as possible. He would probably later have more of them, but he had to work though all the feelings that went through him.
