FILL: Powerplay - 1/? havlockvetinariSeptember 23 2010, 01:19:44 UTC
My first spn fic, but I figured something was better than nothing. So here you go! Thanks to kerrykhat for the betaNo one knows what Crowley’s game is; not human, demon, nor traitor archangel. There are few enough that even remember where Crowley is from. Newer demons, convinced that the Tempter was self-made, a human intentionally corrupted for all the power and influence of hell, envied his position, his seemingly natural skill. Farther up, in memories old, there was a silent certainty that he was Fallen. Even Lilith wondered, bargained, and tortured for that elusive scrap of information, taking the demon into her bed and as her Second in the hopes of finding something to provoke him, something that would draw out the demon’s true form, concrete proof of his origins

If this was Dean’s Hell, Sam wouldn’t need his lungs to scream. If this was Dean’s Hell, being on this rack would mean life was over, and Sam could scream forever without worrying that someone would hear him, if anyone would judge him.
Alistair’s hand slides in between Sam’s ribs and strokes his heart, cradling almost lovingly the part that hurts the most.
If this was Dean’s Hell, Sam would laugh in the face of the demon who thought he was worth breaking.
But this is Sam’s Hell, and Dean’s not here.
Alistair is as close as Sam can get.

"Come on, Sam ..." Alistair pants, sneering as he blinks the sweat out of his eyes, “You want me to show you what good times … your brother and I had in together … in Hell

In canon, human spirits in hell become demons. We know that "Meg" was Azaeal's daughter and she also had a not-so talkative brother who was a demon. So tell the tale. How did they all end up in hell? Could they have been an earlier attempt by another demon at freeing Lucifer?

I've been told I'm one to hold grudges. It's a failing I've had since the Fall of Man. Daddy gets Michael to cast Lucifer to Hell forever and the rest of us are left to just... keep going about our business as if nothing ever happened. Sure thing, Dad

They sent the floods and killed off my kids (along with just about everyone else who didn't make it onto that stupid fucking Boat with Noah and his chosen bitches). My kids weren't exactly welcome in Heaven, so they got first-class tickets Downstairs. They took up positions of High Power there, being special and all, and made sure that things were ready for me when I got there

Right as he's about to slice through her vertebrae a third time, a blinding light drowns out the gore that surrounds him. A white hot heat wraps itself around his shoulder and spreads throughout his body, rendering him useless. He can't feel anything but heat (hotter than Hell ever was) and can't see anything but light, piercing into his eyes until everything goes black

A/N: I have no idea how this prompt turned in to this fic. A/U.
End of Days
"No no, they were big, like," Ruby waves her hands in the air in a rough approximation of size, nearly spilling her beer in the process. "I don't know, big!"
Dean nods reassuringly while he tries to figure out what the fuck she's talking about. His mollifying glace isn't working, though, because she makes a frustrated noise and slams the bottle down on the table with a thud.
"I can't believe you never saw them. Lilith always kept pets. They were horrible. Nothing up here even comes close." She picks the bottle back up again and takes a long sip, closing her eyes against the memory

Dean starts peeling the label off of his bottle, lukewarm condensation beading over his fingers as the pieces tear away. He doesn't want to ask again, but he can't help it, he feels like a little kid on a long road trip, slowly going insane from curiosity.
"How about now?"
"For the love of all that is ... whatever, would you calm down?" Ruby shuts her eyes, locking Dean out. She could be tracking Sam for all Dean knows, right now, from inside the Gulf Port Motel, and Sam could be anywhere.
Any time.
No, not any time, not anymore. Dean moves to the window, taking his turn to look up at the sky. Ruby is right - it will be soon. The clouds boil across the sky in red and gold waves of light, and for the first time in months, Dean spies blue in between the gaps. Even the air looks cleaner, dark smoke from the fires dissipating on the fresh new winds
