No, writers can't vote. Ideally, neither could their beta-readers, but I have no way of enforcing that and so I decided not to try.

This may be astupid question, but I might not be the only one wondering. How do we vote? I didn't see any numbers in the comments, so is there another place where we go to vote?

You comment with your vote. Like, "That was an excellent story, so I'm going to give you a ___(insert number here)!"

I really like the idea of this community, but I'm sort of uncomfortable with the voting process. Not that I don't like any of the stories that I've read, but I also don't want everyone to know how I rate things - it feels very awkward to me. Is there a way to rate stories anonymously without posting an anonymous comment? Like, maybe a post where comments aren't available to the public, or something like that?

I'm afraid not. Sorry. I have no intention of allowing anonymous comments, either, because of the internet anonymity theory. If you don't to vote publically, then don't, but feel free to comment on the stories anyway. ;)

Heh, the internet anonymity theory goes something like this:

Normal person + internet + anonymity = raving jackass.

While I'm fairly sure nobody in the SPN fandom would use anonymous commenting to deliberately hassle the writers, it never hurts to be too paranoid. ;)
