Lisa slowly walked inside Ben’s room to check on him. It had been two weeks since the incident with the creatures. She kept on having nightmares of someone taking him away. She stayed in the doorway of the room until she heard a knock at the door. Heading down stares she check the clock in the hall it read 3:23 a.m.
She walked towards the door afraid of what she would find. Looking through the peephole she saw a man. Opening the door with the safety lock still protecting her from the stranger.
“Can I help you?” She asked the stranger.
“I am sorry to have woken you. Are you Lisa Braeden?”
“Who are you?”
My name is Dr. Mohinder Suresh. I am here to talk to you about your son and you.”
“Mom!” She heard her son yell. Forgetting the man in the door she ran towards her sons room.
“Ben!” She said as she found him sweating to what appeared to have been a nightmare.
“It’s okay. I am here.” She said as she whispered in his ear.
“Is he okay?” She saw that the man from the door was standing in the doorway.
“Yeah, can you wait for me down stares.” She told the man as she tried to calm Ben down.
Suresh nodded and headed down stares. She continued to whisper into Ben’s ear that everything will be okay. As soon as she got him back to sleep she headed down stares to see the man standing in the living room.
“What wrong with me and my son?” She knew that what ever this “Doctor” came here for was not good.
“Mrs. Braeden, I am here to tell you that you and your son are special.”
“It’s Miss, but you can call me Lisa and what do you mean special?” she was getting more and more anxious by the second.
This is exactly what she needed. Knowing that there are actual demons out there in the world and now there was something wrong with her and her son.
Suresh could see that she was getting restless. Maybe coming here this late at night wasn’t that good.
“Have you and your son experience non-normal abilities?”
‘Great, I am a freak and now this guys knows of it,’ she thought.
“Why do you ask?”
“I am here to help you understand your abilities.” The thought that he got close to something was exiting him.
“Look, with all do respect doctor. You have come in the wrong time; my son and me don’t have anything. Please if you could just go.” She didn’t need anyone to start knowing what she can do.
“Please, if I can…”
“No, you listen. It’s late and our business is our, now please leave before I call the police.”
At that said Suresh nodded and headed out of the house. Exhausted, Lisa sat in the sofa. She needed rest. However, that was pull aside until she made a call to someone she felt safe with. Someone she can tell what was really happening and will understand.
