In defence of illustators/comics people....drawing 'realistically' it's not the point, some/most of the times. It's not photographs, so, some details are sacrificed to other needs, for example: in the format of a comic covers, the dimensions of the covers itself dictate the car be a little shorter if you want the wide-lens effect, hence..off the back car-doors go.
I think it's a very effective cover, myself, and the car is Impala-like enough to me :)
To say, there are details that shouldn't be messed up (dates, for example, or names, etc) and other details that can be messed up for artistic license. jmho :D
