I never even knew this comm existed! How do you fit with sawedoff_recs and http://sd-recs.livejournal.com/profile?

I find it hard to do recs unless I do them instantly, otherwise I have a lot of trouble remembering which fics were which, especially if I'm trying to find a specific trope in my muddled memory banks. So I'd be a rubbish reccer.

In terms of what I like as a reader, I find the set up on J2 recs really useful. There they have a single post that tries to catch all the fics that cover a certain trope or theme. Where fics cover more than one theme, they get cross posted. The tags reflect the themes so you can search through those to find the relevant rec post.

However, I realise that requires a lot of organisation and work to collate everything and then tag each post appropriately.

I'd be interested in reccing. However, I would focus only on SPN fic, not RPF. And I'm wondering if the themes can be negotiated somewhat, so that we don't have to deal with topics we might not be comfortable with/interested in?

I really like the idea of throwing a spotlight on a specific challenge or a specific author.

Oooh I hoped you might :-)

There is no prob whatsoever with focusing on SPN only. Likewise, the themes will be negotiable - I think we;re looking at a list on a schedule and ifit is a topic you aren't comfortable with, you just don't rec for it.
