It's a codename for stuff done between Sam and Kevin, something that's both taboo (that's the chicken part since Kevin is a vegan) and comforting (the salad part, Sam loves them, I'm guessing Kevin does too).

Oh yeah! Kevin's totally young enough for the chicken bit to be relevant. And who doesn't love a good salad?

Probably Kevin first tried to seduce Sam by showing up in his bed naked but for a strategically placed arrangement of cos. Sam was pleased by the offering of crisp greens, but wasn't ready to go beyond mutual enjoyment of vegetables.

Sometimes, he and Kevin eat cherry tomatoes together. They both know it's a code. It's good enough for now.

This is one of my favorite Springsteen songs. And the last half of it, from "Voice says "don't worry, I'm here/Just whisper the word tomorrow in my ear" onward really makes me think of SPN.

Very interesting! I'm the anon who had no favorite episode aside from Time After Time and now I'm curious why that one fell so low on the favorites list except with bibros. I'm not a bibro, but I do enjoy frantic!Sam desperately struggling to rescue Dean and I will never turn down Dean in 40s style clothing. Yum.
