I wrote an introduction post for a friend who got into the show a couple of years ago.
Caveats: it's really not exhaustive, I can't guarantee that all links are up-to-date, the recs are entirely subjective and there is no RPF (because the person I was writing the post for doesn't read RPF - there is quite a bit in my LJ memories which are linked in that post though?).
But it is broken down by seasons, so it might be useful.
Yes, I 'm sorry, I should have been clearer. The info is at the end of each rec, except when they're codas, in which case, the info is given after the link and author.
Fics and vids are separate.
Both fics and vids are in chronological order, but with the fics, there are few interlopers. There is also the case of fics which only assume general show knowledge but were posted in later seasons (aeroport_art's fics were written in the Spring of 2008 but they mostly assume general show knowledge and not specific season 3 knowledge, IIRC).
I tried to give out as much information as I could for someone who was mainlining the show, so that they could read a few pieces on the side while not getting spoiled, so it's really not as organized as what you're putting together (and which will be a really awesome resource! \o/) but there should be enough data to indicate more or less when they were written/vidded. :)
