I was very young, and we never became super close, but I think I learned something pretty big from watching her example. I think most people did. At first, I only applied that lesson to cons--but lately I've come to see it in play just about everywhere....

We first met Dawn Marie at the first ExotiCon in 1998, and met her a number of times at cons after that. I have to agree with what Dan wrote. From afar, she seemed like an unapproachable con idol, but she was actually remarkably friendly and accepting, even to us newbies. One of those special people who burn so bright, yet are taken from us far, far too soon.
I miss her, too.
