Improper Dancing

Mar 04, 2009 18:29

This just in:

Electric Six in concert, Saturday April 25, Lenny's Bar (Atlanta/Decatur), 9:00 PM

Tickets: $12.00
21 up

Who's with me?

I don't know if Lenny's is a Gay Bar, but I do know it's very close to my place, so we can go out in Downtown Decatur or Little Five Points after the show, and I have crash space if anyone needs it.

Lenn'y is not a Gay Bar. Before it relocated it was the purest definition of a dive bar catering mostly to punks. bikers and tattooed freaks.

I know they are still doing shows along those lines on a fairly regular basis although most of the "regulars" I knew before are less than thrilled with it being more like a "regular bar" since the relocation.

Have fun!!!!

Yeah, my train goes right by the place every morning. It looks like a dive from the outside, but looks have deceived me before for sure. I was pretty sure it wasn't a gay bar, but I couldn't resist the pun!

Miss you!

Miss you too.
It isn't a great possibility but I might come to town for the show.
My "vacation" is that week.
And my birthday is on the 26th.
I am heading south for a friend's wedding at the end of that week. I might come down for the whole week. Nothing is set yet. But I'll keep you posted.

You would have loved the old Lenny's. It was (literally) a trailer which had been put on bricks and expanded. That bathrooms were legendary for their ick factor...when they worked. It was a classic.

Sounds like my kind of place... As long as there was no country music spilling out of the urinals.

I would love it if I got to see you for a bit, and a show is even cooler. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I have only seen Electric Six in concert once, and it is one of the few times that conversation at the bar was more stimulating than watching the show. And the company I was with was nothing that I hung out with again. It was good background, but I expect SO SO much more from the cds.

But how can anyone not love Dick Valentine's "improper dancing?" Classic stuff, I tell ya.

i grok your user icon ;oP

also, boldar has expressed some interest in this show, and also in getting together with cool people in ATL more frequently than the twice yearly cons held here which usually ends up being (almost) the only times we hang out with cool people who live in Atlanta...

Well, he's welcome to come along, as long as he understands that I won't be making out with him. I have other people in mind for that! :)

It would be AWESOME... spo00on March 7 2009, 02:55:05 UTC
It's officially a date. If all goes well, it will be a super-poly, multi-date, but that just makes it all the more interesting, now doesn't it?

You're in. You can't back out now. Sweet.
