Fring for iPhone

I tried the Fring pre beta for iPhone, it has the promise to become what pidgin is to me on the desktop, but, it's really buggy and lacks some really important features I wish they'd add before they release the beta or goto stable.

Really? ;)

Fring is serverside, mon ami. The app you run is essentially a thin client. So all your credentials pass through fring's servers.

It's kind of sad, but here's what apple is doing to fix it.

Not sure about this. ! but i do multi task and this is what is good about it. It runs in the background and you can receive message alerts (audio) while browsing !

>>Crib 8: When I'm chatting with someone, I have to continue finding them in >>the whole list again and again. Keep current conversations sticky on top, >>or provide tabs.

When a msg is received the buddy is transferred to the top of the list and marked with a different avatar icon..

Depends on the iphone version, I guess. As far as I know, latest generation has the multitasking of third party applications 'turned off', for battery-saving reasons (the most stupid hardware crippling explanation I've ever heard).
