RandomTrek Fanfic Pet Peeves (For Lack of Anything Else to Write)

As a general rule, I'm not one to air my grievances on the Internet but I'm feeling brave today, and I know there are always people who like reading about stuff that irritates them. I know I do :)  I'm basically just writing this because I have absolutely nothing better to do at the moment and I'm trying to push myself to use my LJ account more.

It will be interesting to see if he sticks to his game plan to distinguish his Spock from Nimoy's or if he starts using contractions as a character development thing. The silly thing is that in my experience, I've only ever read reviews that griped about Spock's use of contractions in TOS fics, which is why I was always baffled and slightly vexed. I had always assumed that the readers were perhaps comparing Spock's character a little too closely to Commander Data's, but your ZQ fact sheds new light on it all :)
