If I were to make a graph of my excitement over Christmas (as a cultural holiday), it would start low at age 0, move upward around age 3, zoom up until age 8, where it stays until 11, slowly lowers until 16, then begins to drop more quickly, eventually plummeting to the current level at 22, which is only a two notches above apathy. I don't recall any specifics, but I do remember that Fr Mark told an anecdote that was obviously supposed to be funny, but it sort of wasn't. :P

He does that sometimes. :P

I'm sorry your Christmas was not very exciting. Mine wasn't too exciting either (as far as personal excitement goes - the little kids were very giddy - and there are probably silly psychological reasons for that anyway), but it was certainly more than two notches above apathy. Hopefully in the future situations will change to make the holidays more enjoyable.

Your last two sentences amuse me.

I was about to be incredulous about the fact that you timed a phone call until I remembered the call duration display....

I love that my friends refer to the 26th as Boxing Day.
