I find it vaguely scary to think I've not been offline for more than a week at a time since about 1996. All that time staring at the screen when I should have been (*insert any activity from the last 14 years that's more important*)
My mom didn't have access in her home this past week.
It was hard to make travel plans without it. We had to go to a McDonalds to book a hotel. We spent $120 more on Busch Gardens admissions than we had to, since we didn't have a printer. I'll have to sort out what bits I need to bring to use my netbook in the UK.
The longest stretches without have probably been when I've been on holiday, Austria a couple of years ago springs to mind. I don't mind at all not having access to a computer if I am away but I suffer a little bit if I'm without for more than three or four days when at home. I do find being without it liberating but only for a few days. Maybe if I did it more often I would get used to being without. I'd miss Google searches more than anything. I'm always wanting to look something up.
I've only used a mobile a couple of times to post to LJ but that was a couple of years or more ago.
Hmm, I didn't use the Internet much when my family first got it, but since then the longest stretch was probably a couple of weeks last time I went to England.
