Count another one that has finished it. Haven't been to sleep yet. That book was an emotional rollercoaster, imo. I was proud of the trio and I was proven wrong about my big prediction. But I ached for Severus in this book. Although, I was so proud of Harry to do right by him ( Read more... )

Snape redeems Snape, he betrayed Voldemort because of Lily and continued to protect her son even after she died. Harry just shouted it in the Great Hall to all. Neville, ironically, avenged Snape when he killed Nagini.

Did Lily ever find out Snape loved her?
Never stated, although she'd have to be blind not to know something was up.

I totally called Snape ... but I do think his death was a bit of a let-down. At the very least, he deserved a decent death-scene, not just "Me want wand, me smash you!"

And can you imagine what it'll look like on screen? ohgod

I don't think they've ever had another character who bled like that, descriptively, in the books. Bill got torn up, of course, but we never 'saw' it.

I was definitely surprised that Harry learned about forgiveness (collective "aw" to be inserted). Though I personally don't think that's enough, and that Sev would probably have been slightly miffed or at least weirded out (but maybe secretly preening). ::laughs::

When I first read the epi I thought I would hate it but after reading The Prince's Tale I loved the book just for that chapter.

I admit, the people on my list who liked it and gave reasons have definitely started to turn the tide for me. I think I'm going to read all of the books over again with this one last (didn't read it in book form yet, so some distance from it will be healthy) and then see what I think.
