I think we need to keep in mind that Lex has regenerative abilities. He's survived numerous gunshot wounds to the chest, drowning, strangling, and being dropped from a fucking plane. He'll be fine!
And if he's not, he'll heal. And Clark can fly him to the hospital, where everyone knows him by name.
Ah, but you see, it's like with the vampires - you can stab them and shoot them and hit them, and they won't much care, but if you cut off the head... khm, yes, just realized how very much the example applies... well, you cut off the head and it doesn't exactly grow back... And we are talking Superman strength, it'll probably end up completely detached if something isn't done to protect it.
But, yes, they could go to the hospital. Clark could use his heat vision to save Lex from death-by-blood-loss, and then take him there. I'd love to read *that* scene, especially the explanations they'd have to give. Oh, and just think of Clark's parents' reaction, and Lionel's! And I suspect Clark will really need that kiss of forgetfulness to get Lex to ever come near him again...
If Lex doesn't bleed out after having a gunshot wound to the chest go untreated for however many hours in Lockdown, I don't think we have to worry about that. But he would be pretty damn mad if something happened to Lil Lexy

Have you read "The Pro" comix? That's part of what happens in there. Superman gets his first blow-job... and takes an airplane's wing off. Then he goes to save it... with his pants still down!
