I have a question...if I were to switch out, when and how would I do it? I heard Card is a real bitch, but I don't know how I would confront the guidance counselor (or when, for that matter) and ask to be switched out. I can't just say, "yeah, i heard the teacher isn't that good so can you please switch me?". You and I both know that won't cut it. Did you already switch out? If so, what did you do and if not, what are you going to do?Help me, por favor!

correction day is tomorrow (thursday) from 7:30 to 10:30 me thinks... just go to the guidance councelor and say that it's a personal reason having to do with friends and the atmosphere of the class. maybe they won't even ask you. i dunno, i'm switching tomorrow. i'll be there at 7:30, and if they ask me, i'll be like... "well, it's my senior year, and i've never EVER gone though the process of switching my schedule at all at woodson... ever, so i just thought i'd give it a try." lol. something new, ya know? tell them that mcniff is your favorite teacher ever, or like... your older sibling had them a long time ago... or something. there's MILLIONS of excuses!! haha

thanks for the tips. i e-mailed my guidance counselor last night with a sincere letter asking to be switched, but i doubt it'll work. and i don't think i can wake up early enough to be there between that time...plus it's called 'course correction day' so i'm hesitant to go in and ask if i can be switched to a different teacher for no real reasons. and i have no older siblings! haha, but i get what you're saying :| damn, now you and caitlin c and other people are going to switch out and i'll be all alone with card, boo.
no it's not easy, and i barely got through my first quarter with a C... but i got a 4 on the exam and got a B for the year, B+ on the final... she MADE ME SMARTER. literally. i like her a lot.

I really loved Sinclair too. I just really loved learning and listening to that woman. She's not supposed to be great for freshman English -according to some friends, but I thought she was an amazing AP teacher. Yes, the class was tough, but I really really loved it. It's not easy, but it's good.
Smith is a bit creepy, but the class is decent enough. Do your work and you should be fine. Study carefully for the quizzes, though. It's just a class ya kinda hafta get through. Not amazingly easy, but not really hard either once you get into the groove of it.
And Kladakis! I've heard she's the best of the spnaish teachers - I never had her so I'm quite jealous but she's supposed to be very very good.
