You know what's better than having a job? Doing psych studies for money! You see, I wasn't rostered for any shifts at all this week, so I'm supplementing that income of exactly $0.00 by filling out questionnaires and doing cognitive exercises. it's not so much the job, which is so easy a monkey or a 14 year old girl could do it, but more the passive-aggressive managers and soul-destroying obedience to their corporate dogma.

I had to stay until midnight to finish all the typing, which means I get overtime loading (1.5) plus night loading (1.3) and then the crotchety old but secretly generous and kind doctor gave me $40 for a taxi home and told me to keep the change.

Also, another co-worker gave me the IS IT SAFE?! when told I take the train home! at night! Being a lady and all.

Seriously, it's starting to get depressing, this expectation that I'm going to be accosted walking through Brisbane's rather genteel western suburbs in the dark.
